During this pandemic I’ve worked on the Unreal Book, an algorithmically generated version of the Real Book. I’ve presented a paper and a video presentation at SMC2021
With an incredible quartet made up of Federico Marchesano and Stefano Risso (double basses), Dario Bruna (drums) and Enrico Degani (guitars), plus Carlo Barbagallo as a producer, we sonorized at Mole Antonelliana in Torino, as a collaboration with Museo Nazionale del Cinema, Il jockey della morte, a silent film from 1915. Lots of fun composing the music and playing in such a location. Pics here.
With Mauro Lanza and Simone Pappalardo we had an incredible week in Chaux-de-Fond (CH) for the Les Amplitudes festival. With Mauro we performed the whole Systema naturae cycle and then with Simone we played an improvisation setting under the Otosimbionte moniker. Some pics are here
We opened our new lab at the Department of Humanities (StudiUm) with a concert dedicated to improvisation, called Macchine all’impronta. Great friends musicians participated and we did two of my pieces, Annuario telefonico (with Federico Marchesano, Stefano Risso, Luca Morino and Francesco Bianchi) and Minute di cronometria (with Carlo Barbagallo, Dario Bruna, Amos Cappuccio playing my electromechanical percussion setup, special guest Simone Pappalardo and Jean-François Laporte).
Impressive 360 video by Stefano Sburlati (do not open with Safari) here.
Marcel·lí Antúnez Roca’s multimedia performance Ultraorbism -featuring my live music- has been awarded at Japan Media Art Award and shown at the related exhibit. And so we flew to Tokyo to perform it twice at Instituto Cervantes on Feb 04 2016 .
I’m very happy that my short album “Annuario telefonico” is out for Studiolo Laps. It features a live realisation of the Annuario telefonico score for improvisers, played by me, Michele Anelli and Carlo Barbagallo at the Noise Delivery Marathon in Torino. Lucia D’Errico kindly offered the wonderful cover. Check the album’s page for the score.
I’m in charge of music production for Marcel·lí Antúnez Roca’s new multimedia performance, Ultraorbism, a collaboration between Barcelona and Falmouth. And so, having fun in creating all sorts of bizarre objects to be played live.
