Back to Bologna. Very happy to be invited to participate in the presentation of the volume dedicated to Eco by the Library of Living Philosophers.
I’ve been invited to discuss algorithmic composition and automatic notation at the Conservatorio D. Cimarosa in Avellino. It’s been a very nice occasion to introduce some experiences I developed since 2005.
I had the pleasure to discuss about spatialized sound in cinema with experts and sound designers at Università La Sapienza in Rome.
On May 4th,2017 I’m presenting a seminar on semiotic aspects of programming languages in the context of the seminar cycle by CIRCe of University of Torino, Semiotica dell’aspettualità.
On Nov 4th I will discuss about animated GIF in the context of the Gifer festival. I am also one of the judges that had the difficult task to assign the prize.
I’m very happy to have started my semester as Guestprofessor in the “Detmold Residence for Sound, Image & Space Design” for the winter semester 2016. The image shows a workshop I did about using the wonderful Wave field synthesis system available in the Konzerthaus
In Dec 2015 we did a new edition of the Officine sintetiche project (founded by Fondazione CRT, a collaboration between StudiUm department, CIRMA UniTo, PoliTo and ConsTo, SMET). We did two workshops respectively by Mark Coniglio (Isadora) and Simone Pappalardo (DIY feedback music instruments), and finished with a performance at Superbudda. I will present my digital reconstruction of Enore Zaffiri’s Musica per un anno in Lugano, at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, for Oggi musica, on Friday 11th October 2013. Happy to be able to propose again this relevant electronic work, between music and sound installation.
In the occasion of seminars at CIRMA, with Alessandro Mazzei, my partner in crime for this kind of stuff, we analysed Nanni Balestrini’s Tape Mark I, probably the first poem created using a computer. We reconstructed the original implementation and proposed a new formalisation. And of course generated a lot of new versions.
