I’m very happy to see my new (old) album “Vedute della Luna scritte in braille” (rec in 2009) out for Nephogram editions. Inspired by Galileo’s Sidereus nuncius, it’s computer music without any digital sound in it, as it features only a rumentarium setup. Special thanks due to Franz Rosati, Paolo Armao, Francesco “Guru” Richiardi, Hairi Vogel.
The new Organised Sound issue dedicated to “Re-wiring electronic music” contains my article “Making Acoustic Computer Music: The Rumentarium project” that sums up four years of research with the Rumentarium setup. I’m starting a week dedicated to a new piece in collaboration with friend composer Mauro Lanza. On november 4th we will premiere “Regnum animale” for amplified string trio and electro-mechanical devices, a commission by Milano Musica, played by Repertorio 0 ensemble. Before that, on 29th evening some insights on the production at Galleria Lia Rumma, Milan.
I will present my digital reconstruction of Enore Zaffiri’s Musica per un anno in Lugano, at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, for Oggi musica, on Friday 11th October 2013. Happy to be able to propose again this relevant electronic work, between music and sound installation.
I’m happy to be in such a good company, with Agostino di Scipio and Federico Placidi on the album issued by Synesthesia recordings, Live at ‘O, that documents the concert we did in Dec 2012. I’ve finally put on line a video from the Trilobiti installation in Latina, for the festival “Le forme del suono” on may 24th. Shortly, trilobites is a population of radioclocks capable of sensing the acoustic environment and reacting to it. Here it is. Here a video from the amazing live gig with Simone Pappalardo and Franz Rosati at Circolo Hemingway in Latin the same evening. I’m using a live setup with radioclocks.
In the occasion of seminars at CIRMA, with Alessandro Mazzei, my partner in crime for this kind of stuff, we analysed Nanni Balestrini’s Tape Mark I, probably the first poem created using a computer. We reconstructed the original implementation and proposed a new formalisation. And of course generated a lot of new versions.
I’ve been invited to participate to TPA, Torino Performance Art festival. Which is not a music festival, so I was the only musicians: an interesting context. I’ve played live with the Trilobites project (radioclocks), writing.
I’ve been invited by Alessandro Sciaraffa to join other Turin-based artists in a radio project at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin. I played radioclocks by wrirting poems. The event was related to Alessandro’s exhibit. It has been an impressive event!
Our spatialization of Xenakis’ Concret PH and Varèse’s Poème électronique, as reconstructed by the VEP Project, will be played on an 8-chan ring for the “Random Walks: Music of Xenakis and beyond” event, organised by The Fields Institute, together with the Perimeter Institute and the Institute for Quantum Computing in Waterloo, Canada.
Humbly proud to be there with my work on two so relevant music pieces.
